Three people have been transported to hospital following a serious crash West of Bungendore.

Just after 2pm ACT and NSW Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on Bungendore Road.

Firefighters worked for more than an hour to free the occupants trapped in both vehicles.

Two people in the utility - a man and woman who were both trapped, and the female driver of the Landcruiser who was also trapped, were treated by ACT and NSW Ambulance Service Paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

The Toll Rescue helicopter landed at the scene and the crew on board assisted in the treatment of persons on scene, but were not required to transport any patients as a result of the crash.

Bungendore Road is closed in both directions, delays are expected.

Inquiries are continuing into circumstances surrounding the crash.
