Woman charged after allegedly assaulting and spitting on firefighter
A woman has been charged after she allegedly assaulted and spat on a firefighter at a house fire in Watson overnight.
At about 7.15pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Abeckett Street.
Firefighters entered the property and extinguished a small kitchen fire.
While conducting firefighting operations a woman began hurling abuse at firefighters and allegedly assaulted one of them.
Firefighters removed themselves from the scene until police arrived.
The woman was then arrested shortly thereafter.
The alleged offender is expected to face court this morning charged with two counts of assault a frontline community service worker and one count of common assault.
