A person has been located deceased following a house fire in Holt overnight.

At about 2.40am, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a house alight on Giltinan Place.

Firefighters arrived to find the home well alight, after fire control was gained a search of the home was conducted and a person was found deceased inside.

ACT Policing have established a crime scene and currently have investigators at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time, but is currently being treated at suspicious.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the fire or was in the vicinity of Giltinan Place prior to 3am this morning to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
