Man seriously assaulted in Latham attempted abduction
A 49-year-old Spence man will face the ACT Magistrate Court today following a serious assault and attempted abduction in Latham.
Police established a crime scene just after 9.30am on Friday after a man was allegedly assaulted at the Latham shops by two men.
Police allege that two men attempted to tie up the victim before trying to place him in the back of a silver Holden utility.
Police said the victim successfully resisted their attempts but received serious injuries in the process and the men fled in the utility.
The victim was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
The man was arrested by police on Saturday and taken to the ACT Regional Watch House.
He will face the ACT Magistrates Court today on charges including aggravated robbery (in company), intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, attempted unlawful confinement, and theft.
