Firefighters extinguish house fire in Wagga Wagga

Firefighters have extinguished house fire in Wagga Wagga overnight.

At approximately 11.45pm NSW Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Poulton Street, Ashmont.

Upon arrival firefighters found a house well alight with reports of persons inside.

The fire was quickly knocked down and a search was carried out, the house was cleared and firefighting operations continued.

The fire is believed to have started from a heater which was picked up off the side of the road just days prior.

There were no injuries reported.
