Firefighters save home following kitchen blaze in Downer

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in Downer this afternoon

Just before 3pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Antill Street.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area of a second-floor unit and was extinguished quickly.

Nine residents have self-evacuated and there were no injuries reported.

ACT Policing and ACT Ambulance Service were also in attendance
