Kayaker dies in the flooded Murrumbidgee River.

ACT Policing have confirmed a man has died following a Kayaking accident on the flooded Murrumbidgee River near point hut this evening.

The missing kayaker was part of a group that entered waters south of Canberra earlier today.

At around 2pm the man went missing and was found by rescue crews just after 6pm.

His friends are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are urging the public not to enter or play in flood waters or swollen rivers.
