Driver escapes being impaled after alleged drunken crash in Bruce
Act Policing have charged a 41-year-old Dunlop man with high range drink driving after allegedly blowing almost four times the legal limit.
Emergency services responded to a single car collision in Bruce last night after a car veered off Aikman Drive and impacted a barrier.
The driver was found by police sitting in bushes close to the vehicle.
Police state the driver returned a positive road side breath test and was taken to City Police Station for breath analysis and returned a result of 0.197. The man’s licence was suspended.
Paramedics treated a passenger at the scene before they were transported to hospital for observation.
The man is expected to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 22 September 2020.
