Elderly Female dies following Kambah house fire
A 70-year-old Female has died after fire tore through a Kambah home last night.
At approximately 7.40pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on McTaggart Crescent.
Upon arrival they found the home well alight.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a female died at the scene.
Her husband a 74-year-old male survived by making his way into the backyard.
Neighbours tried to save the woman from the home but couldn’t due to the intensity of the fire.
The 74-year old man was taken to hospital by ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics.
ACT Policing have commenced an investigation into the fire.
