Christmas crisis averted on Christmas Street in Theodore
Quick thinking neighbours have alerted firefighters to a solar panel fire in Theodore this afternoon.
At approximately 12.50pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Christmas Street.
Upon arrival they found a small electrical fire within solar panels on the roof of the home.
Firefighters worked on isolating the panels by blacking them out with tarps and PVStop (A fire-retardant solution that acts as a liquid blanket to make solar panels safe).
The fire was then extinguished using Co2 extinguishers.
There were no reports of any serious injuries.
