Protesters descend upon Parliament house against mandatory vaccination

Around 1000 protesters have descended upon Parliament house in Canberra for a Freedom Protest against mandatory vaccination.

*ACT Policing statement*

ACT Policing today (Monday 31 January 2022) managed a protest involving more than 800 people which moved from Federation Mall to Australia's Parliament House.

About 3.40pm police asked the remaining crowd to move on from the entrance area of Parliament House, and over the following hour the vast majority did so.  

Some people who attempted to set up unauthorised campsites in the area have been moved on by police throughout the day. The community is reminded camping or parking vehicles is prohibited in the Parliamentary Triangle and on NCA managed land without a permit.

No arrests were made during the day.
