Firefighters extinguish house fire in Giralang overnight

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in Giralang overnight.

At approximately 12.50am ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Smalley Circuit.

Upon arrival firefighters located a car on fire inside the garage at the location.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire to the garage and prevent its spread into the main residence.

The occupants of the home were assessed by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services were in attendance.
