60-year-old man charged after restaurant employee allegedly stabbed in Weston
A 60-year-old man has been charged following an alleged stabbing in Weston this afternoon.
At about 12.30pm ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Policing were called to reports that a man had received stab wounds while working at a restaurant on Brierly Street.
The man was treated by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital.
A crime scene was established at the restaurant and soon after a 60-year-old man was taken into custody nearby. He was subsequently charged with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 13 December 2022).
Police spoke with a number of witnesses that were present inside the restaurant at the time of the incident, however are aware some customers who were also present left the restaurant as the incident was occurring prior to police arrival.
Police would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police.
