Police investigate house fire in Higgins

A police investigation is underway following a house fire in Higgins this afternoon.

Just after 2pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire on Pennefather Street.

Upon arrival firefighters located a house well alight with fire through the roof.

An ACT Emergency Services spokesperson said that all persons safely evacuated the home prior to the arrival of emergency services.

A significant amount of police resources responded to the scene with police closing several local streets.

A crime scene has being established at the location and ACT Policing are investigating the fire.
