Man in custody after several fires were started in Jerrabomberra Wetlands

A man is in custody after several fires were lit in Fyshwick this afternoon.

Just after 6pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a grass fire at the Jerrabomberra Wetlands Reserve.

Firefighters located several small spot fires within the reserve and extinguished them.

ACT Policing attended the scene and took a male into custody.

He was transported from the scene by police.

Firefighters worked for more than an hour to black out the fires and ensure the area was safe.
