Man transported to hospital following house fire in Harrison

A man has been transported to hospital following a house fire in Harrison this afternoon.

At approximately 4.15pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Carpentaria Street.

Upon a arrival firefighters found fire in the garage of a home.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to the room of origin with minor spread into the roof space.

A man was treated at the scene for burns by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Fire crews remained on the scene for about two hours ensuring the area was safe.
