Several animals rescued following house fire in Queanbeyan
Several animals have been rescued following a house fire in Queanbeyan this afternoon.
At about 3.30pm, Fire Rescue NSW responded to reports of smoke issuing from a home on Early Street, Crestwood.
Upon arrival, firefighters forced entry to the home and found a heating device on fire in the home.
The fire was quickly contained and firefighters checked for further fire extension into the roof space.
Firefighters rescued two cats and one dog, which appeared to be suffering smoke inhalation. They received treatment at the scene before being transported to a vet by NSW Ambulance Service paramedics.
The occupants of the home were not home at the time of the fire.
NSW Police were also in attendance.
