Two rescued following crash north of Canberra

Two people have been rescued from a vehicle following a crash north of Canberra this afternoon.

Just after 1pm, ACT and NSW Emergency Services responded to reports of a persons trapped crash at the Eaglehawk service centre on the Federal Highway, about 2km north of the ACT border.

Fire crews performed an extensive rescue which required the removal of the roof before the two people inside could be treated and transported to hospital.

Both the driver and the passenger of the utility were transported to hospital in a stable condition, the occupants of the other vehicle did not require treatment.

NSW Police were in attendance and are investigating.
