One rescued following two-car crash on the Federal Highway

One person has been rescued folllwing a serious crash in Bywong this afternoon.
At about 3.45pm, ACT And NSW Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash with persons trapped near the intersection of Shingle Hill Way on the Federal Highway.
Upon arrival they located a utility towing a boat that had rolled over with the boat coming to rest up against the side of another vehicle trapping a person inside.
Crews from ACT Fire and Rescue and Fire Rescue NSW worked to move the boat off the vehicle and attempt a side door removal to free the trapped man.
He was eventually released and treated on scene by NSW Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital in a serious condition.
Another person was also transported to hospital in a stable conditon.
The Federal HIghway was partially blocked in the Northbound direction until the scene was cleared.
