Bomb scare sparks evacuation in the City
A number of people were evacuated following a bomb scare in the City today.
At approximately 11.45am police were called to reports of a suspicious item at the ACT Library.
It's believed an item was left by a suspect who made comments to members of the public about a bomb.
Police commenced an investigation and evacuated surrounding buildings including the legislative assembly and called in AFP bomb response team
London circuit was closed for several hours until the item was declared safe.
The item turned out to be clothing wrapped in a jacket inside the Library.
Police have several images from CCTV and descriptions of the suspect from a number of members of the public and are expected to lay charges.
