Lightning sparks house fire in Forde

Lightning is believed to be the cause of a house fire in Forde this afternoon.

Just after 3pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Justice Kelly Street.

Firefighters located a small fire in the roof space of the home and quickly contained its spread.

Nearby residents reported hearing a loud bang shortly before seeing smoke coming from the home.

An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said that there were no reported injuries as a result of the fire.

ACT Policing were also in attendance.
