Two dogs saved by fire fighters after house fire in Florey

At 3.40pm today ACT Fire & Rescue responded to numerous 000 calls to a house fire in Worrell Place, Florey.

Three people self evacuated after a smoke alarm alerted them to a fire in the rear of the home.

A grandmother, mother and 5 year old child escaped unharmed, however two dogs remained trapped inside.

Fire crews managed to rescue two dogs that were not breathing. CPR was commenced on the two animals and both were able to be resuscitated successfully.

The family thanked the fire-fighters for saving the lives of the dogs however the home has suffered smoke and flame damage.

The two dogs have been taken to a local vet for observation and treatment.
