One transported to hospital following fire in Reid

A boy has been transported to hospital following a fire in Reid this afternoon.

At approximately 5.15pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Geerilong Gardens.

Upon arrival firefighters located power lines down over a building at the rear of a property which had sparked a fire.

Quick actions by firefighters prevented its spread into the structure, and the area was made safe.

Part of a roof was also damaged by the downed lines.

A male was assessed at the scene by an ACT Ambulance Service Paramedic and transported to hospital for further observation.

Evo Energy personnel attended the scene and isolated the live lines.
