Firefighters extinguish house fire in Dickson

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in Dickson this afternoon.

At approximately 2.20pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house alight on Hope Street.

Nearby residents attempted to slow its spread with garden hoses, while the resident escaped from the premises after becoming trapped in the backyard.

Firefighters arrived a short time later and brought the fire under control.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire.

ACT Policing and ACT Ambulance service were also in attendance.
