Person ejected from vehicle following alleged drink driving crash in Dickson

A man has been transported to hospital following a crash in Dickson on Friday night.

Just before 11pm on Friday, 9 September 2022, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a crash on Cape Street.

An ACT Policing Spokesperson said a red Mitsubishi Triton had collided with a stationary white VLK panel van which was being unloaded.

A man who was unloading the van at the time received minor injuries when he was ejected from the vehicle due to the force of the collision, he was then transported to hospital by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics.

The driver of the Triton, a 24-year-old Watson man whose licence had already been suspended was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

He was then transported to city police station where he recorded a 0.200 reading for alcohol.

He will be summonsed to face court for drink driving and driving while suspended.
