Firefighters extinguish grass fire in Fyshwick
Firefighters have extinguished a grass fire in Fyshwick this afternoon.
At approximately 12.30pm ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Rural Fire Service responded to reports of grass alight on Tennant Street.
Upon arrival firefighters located several small spot fires caused by an electrical fault in powerlines and a transformer.
Several units attended and contained the fire quickly, and the fire was extinguished at around 2pm.
Evo energy crews remained on site throughout the afternoon to make appropriate repairs.
The area burnt was approximately 0.2 of a hectare.
