Firefighters extinguish fire inside Macquarie restaurant

Firefighters have extinguished a fire inside a Macquarie restaurant this morning.

At about 10am ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a structure fire on Lawry Place.

Upon arrival firefighters located fire inside an exhaust system at a restaurant.

The fire was quickly contained and there were no reports of injuries.

Firefighters remained on scene for several hours checking for fire extension within the roof space of the building.

ACT Policing were also in attendance.
