15-year-old boy dies following rollover near Parliament House

A young male has died following a rollover near Parliament house on Wednesday morning.

At about 5am, ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Adelaide Avenue in the vicinity of Capital Circle.

An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said a 15-year-old male was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the crash and was treated on scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being transported to hospital in a critical condition.

Police have stated that the vehicle was reported stolen several days prior and was involved in several 'fail to stop for police' incidents.

The entrance of Capital Circle from Adelaide Avenue northbound was closed for several hours while police examined the scene.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.  

Anyone who saw the white Toyota Camry prior to 4.55am on Wednesday morning or who has dash-cam footage of the Camry is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
