Large home destroyed by fire in Murrumbateman

A home has been destroyed by fire in Murrumbateman this afternoon.

Just after 5pm NSW Rural Fire Service and Fire Rescue NSW responded to reports of a house fire on Rattenbury Close.

Upon arrival crews located a large home well alight with fire through the roof space and spreading rapidly.

Crews quickly got to work preventing any fire spread pumping water from a nearby dam to try and bring the blaze under control.

A NSW Rural Fire Service spokesperson said witnesses reported that no one was missing and that the residents weren’t home at the time of the fire.

There have been no reports of injury at this time and firefighters remain on the scene extinguishing the home.
