Firefighters extinguish suspicious bushfire in the Molonglo Valley overnight
Firefighters have extinguished a suspicious bushfire in the Molonglo Valley overnight.
At about 8pm, ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a bushfire near the Molonglo River off Harold White Avenue in Coombs.
Firefighters arrived to find several points of ignition with fire spreading into the pine trees.
ACT Rural Fire Service from at least two brigades were called into assist multiple ACT Fire and Rescue tankers with bringing the fire under control.
The fire was brought under control after 9pm with fire crews remaining late into the night completely extinguishing hot spots.
This morning, members from ACT Rural Fire Service attended and commenced an investigation into the fire and the scene has since been handed over to ACT Policing for further investigation.
