Further resources were requested from NSW RFS, Fire Rescue NSW and ACT Fire & Rescue.
Crews from ACT Fire and Rescue and Fire Rescue NSW were put into property protection in the vicinity of Woodridge Place, Karabar.
The fire was quickly contained to within the burn area and had burned an extra 5 hectares approximately.
One firefighter was conveyed to hospital by private transport due to suspected heat exhaustion.
An RFS Helicopter was also called in for water bombing operations but was not required and was then used for further reconnaissance.
Fire crews are expected to remain on the scene well into the evening mopping up and strengthening containment lines.
