19-year-old woman dies following scooter collision in Kambah
A 19-year-old woman has died following scooter collision in Kambah yesterday afternoon.
At about 3pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a collision between an electric scooter and a car on Drakeford drive near the intersection of O’Halloran Circuit.
Police have said that the rider of the scooter had been thrown a substantial distance across the intersection and the scooter rider was not wearing a helmet.
ACT Ambulance Service treated a 19-year-old woman at the scene and transported her to hospital in a critical condition.
Despite the best efforts of Emergency Services and hospital staff the woman later died in hospital.
Drakeford drive was closed in the Northbound direction for several hours while emergency services were in attendance.
ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team are conducting an investigation into the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
