Firefighters contain large grass fire burning West of Goulburn
Firefighters have contained a large grass fire burning 15km West of Goulburn this afternoon.
At about 3pm this afternoon the NSW Rural Fire Service were called to reports grass fire on Breadalbane Road, Breadalbane.
The fire quickly spread to the east and several brigades were called to the scene.
Crews on the ground were assisted by a waterbombing aircraft which helped knock down the head of the fire to the east.
Local farmers quickly moved livestock away from the fire before the fire impacted several paddocks that they were in.
The fire was eventually marked as contained just after 7pm this evening, burning an area of about 306 hectares.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been from an escaped agricultural burn.
There were no reports of serious injury.
