Man rescued from truck following crash in Melba

A man has been rescued following a crash in Melba this afternoon.

At about 3.30pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a single motor vehicle crash on Kingsford Smith Drive near the intersection Companion Crecent.

Emergency services arrived to find the driver of a truck trapped after colliding with a light post.

Firefighters used several hydraulic tools to free the man who was trapped for nearly an hour.

He was then assessed by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and transported to hospital stable condition.

One lane Northbound was closed until the scene was cleared.

ACT Policing were also in attendance.
