Police investigate alleged hit and run on Barton Highway

Police are investigating an alleged hit and run that occured on the Barton Highway late last night.

At about 11.15pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on the Barton Highway near Kaleen.

Emergency services located a single vehicle in the middle of the road with signifcant rear end damage.

The other vehicle belived to be involved was located approxmitley 2km down the Barton Highway near the Federal Highway intersection.

Police were unable to locate the driver initially, so they commenced a search of the area

Police then atttended the registered residence of the vehicle where they located who is belived to be the driver.

Charges are expected to be laid.
