Car rollover sparks grass fire on the Federal Highway

A car crash on the Federal Highway has sparked a grass fire overnight.

Just after 10pm, ACT Fire and Rescue and NSW RFS responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash and fire on the Federal Highway at Sutton.

Upon arrival they located a fire aproxmitley 100 x 20 meters on size, fire crews quickly got to work bringing the fire under control.

The fire was extinigshed by about 11pm, with one lane of the Federal Highway closed while emeregency services were in attendance.

There were only minor injuries reported as a result of the crash.
