ACT Policing have confirmed a man has died following a Kayaking accident on the flooded Murrumbidgee River near point hut this evening.

The missing kayaker was part of a group that entered waters south of Canberra earlier today.

Police were called to Kokomo's on the corner of Genge and Bunda streets at 12:05am on the 17th July 2020 after reports of a "disturbance".

Detective Acting Superintendent Matthew Reynolds confirmed at the time that the altercation began within Kokomo's before Mr Ulavalu, 48, was found dead outside.

Firefighters have extinguished a house fire in Downer this afternoon

Just before 3pm ACT Fire and Rescue responded to reports of a house fire on Antill Street.

An earthquake of 3.3 Magnitude has been reported in an area west of Yass, NSW resulting in over 100 people filing reports on the event.

According to Geoscience Australia the earthquake struck near the vicinity of Burrunjuck Dam just before 3.30pm this afternoon with no reports of any injuries.

Two persons have been transported to hospital following a crash on Black Mountain last night.

At approximately 6.30pm ACT Emergency Services responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident on Black Mountain Drive.
